Neil Rhein: Founder & President

Neil Rhein: PresidentNeil Rhein founded Bullseye Communications in 2005 to meet the unique communications needs of financial services companies. Today, Neil and Bullseye Communications serve a variety of clients, including consulting firms, nonprofits, financial services companies, and health care companies.

Previously, Neil served as vice president and editor of Fidelity Focus and Fidelity Outlook magazines, two award-winning Fidelity Investments publications. Previously, he worked in several marketing communications and client support positions at Fidelity Investments, Smith Barney, and Dean Witter, while earning his NASD Series 7 and Series 8 securities licenses along the way.

Neil earned a Master’s degree in business communications and public relations from Emerson College in Boston and a B.A. in communications from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Neil also serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful, a volunteer organization that is taking action to make Massachusetts a cleaner, greener place to live, work, and play.

Erin Shapley: Editor and Proofreader

Erin is an editor and proofreader with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, including two Big 4 accounting firms, a private equity group, and a regional bank. Erin earned a B.A. in theater arts from Southern Oregon University and has taken courses through UC San Diego’s Copyediting Certification program. She is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, American Copy Editors Society, and the Northwest Independent Editors Guild.

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a B.A. in magazine writing and a Master’s degree in magazine editing, she specializes in crafting dynamic editorial that is clear, concise, and error-free.

Ellen Persio: Editor and Proofreader

Ellen PersioEllen has more than 20 years’ experience writing, editing, and proofreading high-tech, biotech, medical, financial, and educational publications. She earned a B.A. in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and an M.A. in religion literature from the University of Chicago. Her professional training includes mechanical and substantive editing courses taught by editors at the University of Chicago Press.

  • Grammar pet peeve: The misconception passed along by many English teachers— including mine—that we should never end a sentence with a preposition. There’s no such prohibition in the rules of English grammar. The misunderstanding stems from an aspect of Latin syntax that when applied to English sentences can result in the kind of awkward constructions that inspired Winston Churchill to say, “This is the sort of nonsense up with which I will not put.”
  • Favorite pastimes: Reading, binge-watching crime series on Netflix, laughing myself to tears

Glenda Jordan: Editor and Proofreader

Glenda is an editor and proofreader with more than 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. In her most recent role prior to this one, she drafted, edited,Glenda Jordan and finalized financial services RFPs as a Proposal Consultant. Glenda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University. She is also an Army Veteran who served her country stateside and overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
