Neil Rhein

Neil Rhein founded Bull’s-eye Financial Communications in 2005 to serve the unique communications needs of financial services companies. Previously, he was vice president and editor of Fidelity Focus and Fidelity Outlook magazines, two award-winning Fidelity Investments publications. Neil also worked in several marketing communications and client support positions at Fidelity, Smith Barney, and Dean Witter. Once upon a time, he held his NASD Series 7 and Series 8 securities licenses. Neil earned a Master’s degree in business communications and public relations from Emerson College and a B.A. in communications from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

When not managing communications projects for his clients, Neil enjoys basketball, golf, fishing, and goofing around with his wife and two daughters. He also devotes considerable amounts of his time as Executive Director of Keep Mansfield Beautiful, a volunteer organization he founded that empowers residents, businesses, and government to make Mansfield, Mass. a greener, cleaner place to live, work, and play.

D. Chris Brown, CFP

With 20 years of investment industry experience, Chris brings extensive knowledge of financial markets, including a broad range of equity, fixed-income, and alternative investment strategies. Previously, he was a senior strategy consultant with Cerulli Associates and the director of research at Financial Research Corporation (FRC), before launching his own adviser research firm. Earlier in his career, Chris was a vice president of marketing communications at Putnam Investments and was the president of his own investment advisory firm. He has been a Certified Financial Planner since 1994. Chris received a BA in philosophy from Geneva College. When he’s not writing, he enjoys performing with his rock band, playing tennis, attempting to golf, working out, and hanging out with his family.

Emily Boyle

Emily is a dynamic communicator who knows the power of words. Over the past 15 years, she has developed a core technical niche in financial writing, leading or supporting hundreds of high-visibility writing and editorial initiatives for financial services clients. These include mutual fund shareholder reports and brochures, corporate annual reports, client and shareholder newsletters, and RFP responses. With a clear sense for client needs, she brings collaborative precision and informed creativity to every writing project. Emily is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where she earned a BS in journalism and minored in English. She lives in Denver with her family and, when she is not writing, enjoys any and all outdoor activities.

Jason M. Rubin 

Jason has been a professional writer for 25 years, working client-side and in agency settings in the areas of corporate communications, marketing communications, investor relations, and public relations. He specializes in translating highly technical subject matter into clear, readable prose and has served clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology, and higher education. He holds a BA in journalism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and serves as communications director and board member of AIGA Boston, the local chapter of a professional association for design. In his none-too-copious spare time, he has completed a novel and enjoys spending time with his two daughters.

Nancy Opiela

Based in Medfield, Mass., Nancy has specialized in writing for the financial services industry over the past 17 years. She specializes in topics ranging from institutional money management to personal finance. Nancy has written for the Financial Planning Association's Journal of Financial Planning and Solutions, the CFA Institute’s CFA Magazine, Bank of America, and AARP, among others.

Sue Khodarahmi

Sue has been working in business and trade publishing for more than 16 years. As an editor, copyeditor, and writer, she has helped to produce dozens of publications and integrated marketing communications programs for organizations like CXO Media, Fidelity Investments, Forbes Custom Media, IABC’s Communication World, and the University of Miami. Sue holds a master’s degree in communications management from Simmons College in Boston and lives outside Boulder, Colorado.

Liz Craig

Liz Craig is a writer, editor, and proofreader  with more than 30 years’ experience. Prior to going independent, she held her Series 7, Series 66 and Life and Health certifications and worked as an Ameriprise Financial Adviser in Overland Park, Kansas. She is now a freelance writer and editor for B-2-B companies in various industries, including financial services and manufacturing technology. Liz is an honors graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a bachelors degree in  Communications. Liz enjoys her pets (a parakeet named Buster and a black cat named Mousie Cat), Kansas City Royals baseball, and peanut M&Ms.

Fran Fahey

Fran Fahey is a proofreader and copywriter with more than 25 years of experience in human resources, government, and business. Since 2008, she has operated Fran’s Fine Editing, helping small business owners with their web copy, brochures, and other marketing materials. Fran earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychology from Stonehill College. She lives in western Massachusetts with her wife Jean, dog Riley, and cat Max. In her free time, she enjoys writing flash fiction and researching family history. She is also an active member of the Greater Easthampton Chamber of Commerce, the Women Business Owner’s Alliance of Pioneer Valley, the Women’s Business Network, and the Committee of Ten Thousand, a charitable organization she founded to help people with hemophilia and HIV.

Based in Portland, OR, she has helped businesses, publishers, editors, authors, and non-profits such as Publications International, Mindworks Media Group, American Airlines, and Collin Youngclaus.

John Hall

John has more than 20 years of experience as an art director, and has designed many award-winning books and magazines. He was the founding design director of Experience magazine, a career and lifestyle publication for young professionals. The 1 million-circulation magazine was honored as a national finalist for Best New Magazine Design in the 2000 Folio: Ozzie Awards, and featured in Print’s Regional Design Annual. He also served as the senior art director for Continental, the in-flight magazine of Continental Airlines, and art-directed Running Times, a national running magazine. John is a member of the Boston chapter of the AIGA, the professional association for design.
